Knowledge for different demands and learning levels
INeS considers the needs
of different target groups:
the learning programme addresses apprentices, pupils and students in learning
facilities such as Fachhochschulen and Universities with an emphasis on logistics,
but it also turns to experts such as shippers and freight forwarders.
The entire curriculum is divided into the seven
learning topics:
- Waterways
- Inland Vessels
- Ports & Terminals
- River Information Services
- Market & Organisation
- Intermodal IWT
- Policy & Law
These seven learning topics are adapted
for learners with varying background knowledge
in the field of inland navigation. Three different
levels answer the needs of the learners: from Beginner to Advanced
and ultimately Professional levels.
Learning step-by-step
INeS is an internet portal open to all interested
(www.ines.info). Immediately
after user-registration, access to the beginners’
courses of the seven e-learning topics will be granted. After
passing of the final tests, the advanced levels can be reached. Successful learning
is achieved gradually: once a course is completed, the learner can proceed to
the next higher level. A course is recorded as completed once a satisfactory
overall score has been achieved.
The communication between learners
is important: these can enter
a forum where other users are already registered in order to ask questions or
exchange knowledge and information.
A virtual classroom
With the creation of „learning groups“–
areas with limited access – the educational facilities have the opportunity
to integrate INeS in the curriculum
and the experts may integrate it within on-the-job
training. Within these “classes”, each trainer can
also create individual courses,
forums, compile tests and create special exercises – in short, the trainer
is given the opportunity to create his own “classroom”.
Persons interested in the creation of a learning group – whether representatives
of teaching facilities or experts should register with Ms. Sabine Piribauer,
at ines@via-donau.org.
